Sound Based Augmented Reality System
Hed 𐤄ד is a Sound Based Augmented Reality System designed by Nir Jacob Younessi.
Hed is a living system that captures the sounds of its surroundings and transforms them through code.
It reshapes the space by adding layers into reality, altering perception, and generating an alternative sonic view of the surrounding.
When you use the system things don’t appear as we are used to and listening itself becomes an act of transformation.
There are two main experiences you have with Hed 𐤄ד:

Hidhud 𐤄𐤃𐤄𐤅𐤃
Rituals in sound, light, and motion
Hidhud is sound performance based on a "Book of Rituals" written in ancient Hebrew language with Phoenician letters - called Hidhud.
The Book is a collection of acts, gestures, and tools that expand the sense and bring Hed to life
its an alternative partitura for movements and sounds.

Small gestures bend the frequencies.
A turn of the spine alters the rhythm.
𐤌𐤉𐤋𐤄 are rituals shaped by words
When a word is repeated enough times, it stops being a word - It becomes a portal.
Hed 𐤄𐤃 listens and response
In these rituals, spoken repetition awakens sound.
Hedim 𐤄𐤃𐤉𐤌
A Solo experience inside HED
Hedim is a room or an area designed for Hed System.
A participant steps alone into a defined space, wearing movement and Different controllers.
Inside, they take part in game like situation where their movement, voice and touch can control the room. Its a new variation of "Escape room" - using Hed system.
Each encounter is a subtle shift in perception, a reminder that magic can emerge from the simplest acts:
listening, moving, pausing, echoing.

Percept
Controlled of Hed System
Percept is a compact controller that use a high-fidelity microphone connected to Hed system.
The controller made by Idan itzhaky and Nir Jacob Younessi for Dutch Design week 2025.
This device allows the user to modulate environmental sound shifting between layers of reality.
By using Percept the users can walk, play, meditate and experience reality with more layers.

in terms of production:
Hed is a flexible and evolving project that can take many forms:
an intimate one-on-one ceremony, or a shared ritual designed for larger audiences.
It can take place indoors or outdoors, adapting to the space it inhabits - from theaters and galleries to public or remote locations.
While the full premiere is planned for summer 2026, Hidhud is already being presented in various formats and stages of development.
It can currently be experienced as a trial session, workshop, or site-specific encounter.
