Sleeping Sound Performance

Between Awake And Dream

IMG_8825 2.jpg-2.jpg
Between Awake and Dream is a durational sound performance that explores the threshold between consciousness and sleep.

It unfolds as a journey through the layered states we pass each night, from the first descent into sleep, through its depths, into the fragile spaces of dreams and nightmares, and finally, toward awakening.

The structure and musical score mirror the biological sleep cycle: each stage becomes a sonic chapter with different music instruments, a conceptual composition shaped by the physiology the body during the diffrent phases in the sleeping cycle.

To build this world, the artist conducted a sleep test and uses the raw data, brainwaves, breathing patterns, and movement. as musical and visual material, transforming scientific signals into sound and light.

The performance is divided into four movements:
• Falling Asleep
• Light Sleep
• Deep Sleep
• Dreams & Nightmares

For each phase, live instruments, voice, electronics, and ritual sound practices create a shifting landscape of resonance and subconscious texture.

The Duration of the show can change, from 40 minutes "normal" performance to 6 hours of sleeping concert.
