Between Walls is the branch of artistic installation of Cie Suspendu that uses household objects in a poetic constellation. It searches how to provide the interior habitants of out homes (furniture) an internal agency, a meaningful presence by composition and interaction. In the beginning these works emerged as by-products of research for AMOW and finally have evolved into standalone pieces.
We design the installations using unique rigging, light & sound coding that blur the line between performance and environment. They create immersive theatrical atmospheres and can either function as independent artworks or as interactive designs for performances or events.
The installations can be set up in a wide range of spaces. We provide the electrical and lighting components, designed to remain active over long periods.
Most of the structures are made from furniture — collected directly from the site, through donations, or second-hand sources — in order to stay connected to the local context.
1. Shadow clock
Shadow Clock is an immersive installation of light, shadow, and sound. Twelve suspended light bulbs illuminate a white canvas, transforming each visitor’s shadow into a live, ever-changing choreography.
The system follows a clock-based structure, shifting every 15 minutes. Random patterns of light and sound emerge through electromagnetic relays, creating a unique shadow performance each time someone enters the space.
Visitors can step inside to activate the installation with their presence or observe from the outside. In both cases, the shadow becomes the central performer—alive, pulsing, and responsive.
2. THE MONSTER
An installation of rigged furniture possessed by sound and light, a house becoming alive, a monster.
3. Parlament

Five chairs rigged together in a circle, each one can just pull itslef away from the others and distorting the tension equilibrium between them. The public visiting this installation and manipulate each chair through an accessible rope system and change the composition autonomically.
