HidHud logo.png

Hidhud is a participatory sound ritual created by Nir Jacob Younessi.

Participants enter a temporary dark structure in small groups.

At the entrance, each person is invited to write a wish, prayer, or intention on a small piece of paper before entering the space.

Inside, they sit facing the performer. Through live voice, sound, movement, light, and listening, each intention becomes the starting point for a unique ritual that is created only for that specific group.

As the ritual unfolds, participants hear their own voices transformed through headphones while the space slowly changes in response to movement, sound, and presence. No two sessions are the same.

Hidhud invites strangers to enter a shared act of listening, where personal wishes become collective echoes.

Danny Tavori is a contemporary circus artist with an unconventional path. Born in Israel, he developed an early critical awareness of militaristic norms, influenced by the writings of Hanokh Levin. A passionate autodidact, he earned a B.Sc. in mathematics with honors while exploring visual arts and working with at-risk youth.

His encounter with aerial circus, introduced by Inés Lorca, marked a decisive turning point. He trained in aerial rope at FLIC (Turin), then specialized in aerial straps. After several years of performing and taking part in residencies across Israel and Europe, he joined the MFA program in Contemporary Circus Practices at DOCH (Stockholm), where his creative journey truly began.
He created #othercircus, a series of two curated performances that left a strong mark on the Israeli scene, and began long-term collaborations with sound and code artist Nir Jacob Younessi and circus artist Jennifer Cohen. He also took part in projects directed by Bernard Kudlak. In parallel, he continued to deepen his research into suspended movement through Butoh, dance, technology, and collective creation.

The Experience

You enter a small dark temporary structure - there you encounter Jacob.

You write an intention on a piece of paper and handle it to him - The ritual starts.

The movements of his hands reshape the sound of the space, while light responds and slowly transforms according to the what echoes in the space.

It’s an open experience, where things can change according to the intention.

The intentions are the thing you wish to echo into the space.

It can be a personal wish or something you want to be able to do.

It can be a general prayer for a different future, It can be deep and meaningful, It can be small and funny.

All the intentions are collected and added to a database of the things we wish.

Hidhud is Part of       (HED) - a sound based AR system created by Nir Jacob Younessi.

The systems captures the sound in the space, transforming it according to movement, light and intention.

When wearing the headphones the sound change your perception, creating a feeling of discovery inside the known.
